For over 30 years the Langbaurgh Talking Newspaper For The Blind has produced a monthly cassette tape of local news and magazine items which is sent out to blind and visually impaired people who live in Redcar and Cleveland district or who have links with the area.

 

Our work does not attract statutory funding of any kind. We rely on our own fund raising activities and the generosity of donors to fund our work.

 

The Langbaurgh Talking Newspaper is sent out each month by post to our listeners who then return the cassette to us ready for the next issue. The service is entirely FREE to our listeners.

 

The vast majority of our listeners are elderly people who have lost their sight as part of the ageing process and we know that our work is appreciated by the number of messages we receive back from our listeners.
